The upper hammer rock drill handle adapter (hitting bar) is used to transmit power to the rock drill and drill handles. In general, there are male threaded slides with handles and female threaded adapters with handles. Male shaft adapters are more popular than the female shaft adapters. Male shaft adapters are generally suitable for drift, tunnel boring and extension applications where high tension exists. Female shaft adapters are used when the drilling area is limited.
